Dorset is home to a diverse array of talented young people covering a range of sporting activities

Some of the county's brightest prospects, however, lack the means to pursue their dreams fully and that's where The Lord-Lieutenant's Fund for Young and Talented comes in.

The appeal side of the Fund was officially launched in September 2015. In February 2017, for the first grant making round, we focused on supporting those with sporting talents – helping level the playing field!

Within weeks of opening the fund for applications we received over 22 requests for support. The grants panel supported 11 future sports stars competing in a variety of sports such as sailing, water polo, para-triathlon and swimming.

We are actively raising donations, so that we can support more talented young people – see how you can get involved below:
