Surviving Winter Fund

Small grants for projects that provide a range of support activities to older people throughout the winter.

Surviving Winter Fund

As part of our Surviving Winter Appeal this year we will be awarding small grants to local community groups that provide a range of support activities to older people throughout the winter. These could be regular lunch clubs and support groups, or one-off events taking place over the Christmas period.

Please read through Funding Criteria for Groups before you apply.

Grants of £300 will be awarded to groups that meet the following criteria:

  • Voluntary and community organisations and charities with an annual income of less than £50,000
  • Local organisations that are mainly run by volunteers
  • Projects where the main beneficiaries are over 65

Projects that meet at least one of these priorities:

  • Keeping warm and well
  • Eating well
  • Keeping socially active

And can demonstrate how your beneficiaries are affected by cold weather and how your project can support this.

The Fund will open for applications on 21st October 2015 and the closing date is noon on 18th November 2015.

Any grant awarded will need to be spend by 31st March 2016. We will fund reasonable capital costs (eg office equipment, sports equipment, tools etc) for your project however an application for only capital items will be a low priority for funding.

Important:

We will be notifying groups about the funding decisions in the week beginning 13th December 2015. This will be done by email so please make sure you check your spam/junk mail folders in addition to your inboxes for our email notification.
