The Foundation Celebrates Local Communities with a Signature Event

The Dorset for All event was attended by 150 people including special guests Lady Fellowes, Kate Adie, the Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset Mr Angus Campbell, the High Sheriff of Dorset Sir Philip Williams and local philanthropists, professional advisers, businesses and representatives from local charitable trusts.

Jon Yates, Chief Executive at Dorset Community Foundation explained: ‘We are so grateful to our Ambassador Sara Weld who provided the magnificent venue and our headline sponsor Lester Aldridge. The event enabled us to gather together local people who are all interested in making Dorset a great place for all. Our county is often considered very wealthy, but many are shocked to find out that one in six local residents lives in deprivation. Our vision is a fairer, thriving Dorset built on a culture of giving and philanthropy. Our aim is to grow philanthropy in our county and raise funds for those most in need.’

Over the last 16 years Dorset Community Foundation has raised and distributed over 10 million in support to local community groups, small charities and individuals in need. The Foundation works with local individuals, businesses and established trusts to channel their generosity to a cause or area in Dorset.
