Surviving Winter Appeal BBC Coverage – Mr Coop’s Story

Our Surviving Winter Appeal which raises donations for local older people at risk during the winter months has received extensive media coverage across multiple BBC channels in including radio and regional news.

Surviving Winter Appeal BBC Coverage – Mr Coop’s Story

The coverage which is helping us raise awareness of fuel poverty and social isolation amongst the elderly features the story of Mr Coop who lives in Dorchester without central heating and can only afford hot water for two weeks every month.

The cold exacerbates his depression and bronchitis.

Mr Coop is just one of the many local older people who struggle in silence. Latest statistics show that an average of 590 older people died last winter.

Your donations can save lives – Thank you!
