The mental and physical benefits for disabled and carers resulting from participation in sport are increasingly being recognised.

Bournemouth Sports Forum for the Disabled believe that the more the disabled person is able to fully participate in the activity the greater the rewards in terms of increased personal confidence and self-esteem.

The Foundation in partnership with Comic Relief Local Communities Fund funded a project to provide sailing trips for local people with disabilities.

The grant for £2,000 from Comic Relief will enable us to give over 200 disabled and carers the opportunity to sail the beautiful Jurassic Coast on our wheelchair accessible offshore sailing catamaran Knoticat.

Without the wonderful support of the Foundation and Comic Relief we would not be able to continue to take disabled sailing, thank you again for helping us to help the disabled.
