The project supported through the Toby’s of Shaftesbury Fund enabled Higher Green Farm to purchase new IT equipment to support disadvantaged young people who are either experiencing learning difficulties or are dealing with behavioural problems which stem from dealing with trauma or abuse.
Our grant of £5,000 supported a drop-in centre ran by Routes to Roots for homeless people in Poole.
We have supported Nathan, 17, through bursaries from the Superior STEM Fund for the last two years and we are very pleased that the very ambitious and talented student has just been offered a place at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
Creative Kids is a local charity based in the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe, a deprived area in Bournemouth.
Dancing is a brilliant way of improving mental and physical health and research also shows that taking part in ballroom dancing has been shown to reduce the chances of getting dementia by 76%!
Space Youth Project supports young people in Dorset who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or is questioning their sexuality and/or gender.
Visually impaired members from across Dorset benefit from playing cricket.
People First Dorset is as established local charity that supports people with learning disabilities and raises public awareness of their needs.
